Continental Math League Contest Registration 2023-2024. Grades 1 - 9. Mountain View, CA

MathClub invites elementary and middle school students to participate in the offline Continental Math League (CML) math contest!

Continental Mathematics League is an annual U.S. problem-solving contest for students, consisting of several meets held throughout the school year.

Date and Time

  • Grades 1 - 3:
    • Meet 1: Jan 4, 2024, 6 PM PST (30 min offline) Address: 400B Ortega Ave, Cabana Building, Mountain View, CA
    • Meet 2: Feb 1, 2024, 6 PM PST (30 min offline)
    • Meet 3: Mar 7, 2024, 6 PM PST (30 min offline)
  • Grades 4 - 9:
    • Meet 1: Nov 2, 2023, 6 PM PST (30 min offline).
    • Meet 2: Nov 30, 2023, 6 PM PST (30 min offline)
    • Meet 3: Jan 4, 2024, 6 PM PST (30 min offline)

Contest Addresses

The CML contest could be held at either of the following locations:

  1. Mountain View Community Center, 201 S Rengstorff Ave, Mountain View, CA 94040
  2. 400B Ortega Ave, Cabana Building, Mountain View, CA

The location will be determined and communicated to you before each event in a separate email confirmation.

Registration deadlines

  • Jan 2, 2024, 9:00 PM PST. The registration includes all future 2023-2024 CML meets.

How to participate

  • Please, make sure that your student has an active MathClub Exercises subscription. For $50 per month, the subscription provides you with two sets of exercises every week, featuring authentic problems from previous math contests.

  • Complete the CML registration form for your student and pay the CML registration fee. The registration fee can include one or all CML meets.
    CML registration fee:

    • for Grades 1 - 9 is $60 and includes 3 offline meets
    • any one meet is $25

Meet Regulations

  • Each student may participate at or above grade level. For example, both 2nd and 3rd graders may participate at the 3rd grade level.
  • Grades 1 - 9, allow the student 30 minutes to answer the 6 questions.
  • Proctors are not permitted to assist students in any way.
  • No hand-held calculators permitted.
  • To appeal an answer, for any reason, send us a brief description at support@cmleague.com
  • For students with disabilities, we may follow the IEP when administering the contest.

Scoring

We accept an answer as correct only if it is the same (or equivalent) as the answer in the solution key. Each correct answer is worth one point.
